To Help Glaciers With The Colour Blue

2024 - ongoing

‘To Help Glaciers With The Colour Blue’ is a photographic research on the use of geotextiles to preserve glaciers in Switzerland.
To slow down the melting of glaciers, geotextile canvasses are placed over the glaciers and their surrounding snow. These textile canvasses ensure that the cold remains trapped under the canvas and the glacier remains untouchted by the sun.

For this project I am exploring different Swiss glaciers by foot. This has resulted in cyanotype prints made together with the Sankt Annafirn glacier in Andermatt and the Witenwasserrenglacier in Realp, Switzerland.
With these cyanotypes nature becomes her own artist, allowing sunlight to imprint abstract images of the glacier’s landscape onto the canvasses.
